The Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday, 22nd July 2025, received the Head of Service of Enugu State, Dr. Godwin Chinedu Anigbo, PhD, mni, during a courtesy visit to the Command headquarters. The State Commandant, Dr. Elijah Etim Willie, PhD, led senior officers in welcoming the visiting delegation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his remarks, Dr. Anigbo expressed gratitude for the warm reception and noted that the visit formed part of his ongoing familiarisation tour following his recent appointment and official swearing-in as Head of Service on 17th and 23rd July, respectively. He highlighted the importance of building strong inter-agency relationships, particularly with key security formations in the state. Dr. Anigbo commended the NSCDC for its vital role in safeguarding critical national assets and its broader contributions to national and state security architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stressed the need for continued collaboration between the Civil Service and security agencies, noting that such synergy is critical for efficient governance and public service delivery in Enugu State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his response, Commandant Willie described the visit as both timely and significant, acknowledging the strategic leadership Dr. Anigbo brings to the state\u2019s public sector. He praised the Head of Service\u2019s outstanding record in administration and policy implementation, expressing confidence that his tenure would foster innovation and reform within the civil service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commandant also used the opportunity to highlight some of the operational challenges confronting the Command, including the lack of adequate working tools and the poor condition of the Command\u2019s office infrastructure. He noted that the state\u2019s ongoing infrastructural transformation should ideally extend to security formations, adding that improved facilities would greatly enhance operational efficiency and morale among officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commandant Willie appealed for government support to bridge these gaps, while reaffirming the Corps\u2019 commitment to its mandate of protecting critical infrastructure, ensuring public safety, and contributing to overall security in the state. He also pledged the Command\u2019s willingness to work closely with the Office of the Head of Service in promoting institutional synergy and building sustainable partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visit concluded with a brief tour of the Command\u2019s facilities and further discussions on areas of possible collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
