His appointment, which took effect on <strong>August 14, 2025<\/strong>, was confirmed by the Ministry of Interior following the retirement of his predecessor, Jaji Abdulganiyu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adeyemi, who previously served as a <strong>Deputy Controller-General<\/strong> in charge of administration, brings decades of professional experience in fire safety management, rescue operations, and institutional reforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At his decoration ceremony in Abuja, the Minister of Interior, <strong>Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo<\/strong>, charged the new fire chief to reposition the Service, restore public confidence, and deepen reforms to meet modern emergency standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Minister emphasized that Adeyemi\u2019s leadership must focus on <strong>improving response times, curbing procurement controversies, and strengthening collaboration with states and local governments<\/strong> to tackle recurrent fire disasters across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adeyemi pledged loyalty to the Federal Government and promised to prioritize <strong>transparency, operational efficiency, and community fire prevention campaigns<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Federal Fire Service has, in recent years, faced mounting criticism over <strong>procurement irregularities, inadequate hydrant systems, and delayed responses to major market and urban fires<\/strong>, particularly in Lagos and other densely populated cities.
