Air Vice Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff, has emphasized the urgent need for coordinated efforts to tackle rising insecurity reports in Kebbi State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking during a courtesy visit to Governor Nasir Idris at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, Abubakar described the security situation as alarming, warning that if left unaddressed, it could jeopardize the longstanding peace enjoyed by the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He acknowledged that Kebbi\u2019s expansive terrain and shared borders with two neighboring countries present unique and complex security challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe security reports coming out of Kebbi are deeply concerning. Failure to address these issues risks destabilizing the peace the state has maintained over the years,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abubakar also explained that his visit aimed to review the performance of Air Force personnel deployed in Kebbi, expressing satisfaction with their professionalism and operational effectiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He assured Governor Idris of plans to intensify aerial surveillance and military operations to eliminate terrorist threats and restore calm in affected regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In response, Governor Nasir Idris appealed to the Federal Government to establish a permanent Air Force base within Kebbi to enhance security capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The governor highlighted that Kebbi boasts one of Nigeria\u2019s best airports and pointed to ongoing collaboration between the state government and the Nigerian Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further noted that the Nigerian Navy has pledged to set up a naval base in Yauri, underscoring a multi-agency approach to the state\u2019s security challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI commend the Chief of Air Staff for the continued support to Kebbi. The Air Force consistently provides critical assistance during bandit attacks,\u201d Governor Idris said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added, \u201cHaving a permanent Air Force base here will significantly strengthen our ability to confront these security threats. The state government remains committed to supporting and complementing the Air Force\u2019s efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
