Two suspected armed robbers have been apprehended by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ogwashi-Uku Community in Delta State, CSP Okoyomon Israel, together with the Anti-Crime Squad and local vigilante groups. The suspects were reportedly operating along Chelsea Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The arrested individuals have been identified as Thywill Selvin, a 22-year-old from Poly Road, Ogwashi-Ukwu, and Guntim Bako, aged 32, from Kwale Junction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports received by DAILY POST, the arrests took place on August 4, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recovered from the suspects were various weapons and valuables, including one pump-action rifle loaded with a live cartridge, a Beretta pistol with six live rounds, three assault rifle cartridges, two motorcycles\u2014a Daylong (REG NO: SAP 369 VK) and a Qlink (REG NO: URM 750 QV)\u2014twenty-five mobile phones, four laptops, a tablet, a PlayStation 4 gaming console, a home theatre system, two Zealot music players, five bags containing clothing, and other assorted items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident in a statement issued to our correspondent in Warri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SP Edafe explained that a distress call was received at the Ogwashi-Ukwu Police Station on the early morning of August 4, reporting the presence of armed robbers operating along Chelsea Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn response, DPO CSP Okoyomon Israel swiftly mobilized the Anti-Crime Squad alongside local vigilante groups to the location,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUpon arrival, the suspects attempted to flee but were apprehended. The two arrested individuals are Thywill Selvin and Guntim Bako,\u201d SP Edafe added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further detailed the items recovered during the operation, confirming the seizure of firearms, ammunition, motorcycles, electronics, and other valuables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
