The Kebbi State Police Command has successfully rescued three kidnapped victims following a coordinated security operation in Shanga Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafi\u2019u Abubakar, the rescue took place after a group of armed kidnappers stormed Sangara village in the early hours of July 27, around 2:00 a.m., and abducted three individuals namely: Muhammad Namata, 25, Gide Namata, 20, and Hamidu Alhaji Namani, 35 all residents of the same address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon receiving the distress report, the Divisional Police Officer of Shanga mobilized a joint security team comprising personnel from the Police, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local vigilante groups, and hunters. The team launched a search-and-rescue mission, trailing the kidnappers to the hills around Shanga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the operation, the security team engaged the kidnappers in a fierce exchange of gunfire. Overpowered by the superior firepower of the operatives, the kidnappers were forced to abandon the victims and flee into the forest, reportedly with gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The three abducted victims were rescued unharmed on July 31 at approximately 3:30 p.m. They were immediately taken to a medical facility for treatment and are expected to be reunited with their families soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, commended the swift response and gallantry of the joint security team. He urged them to continue fostering inter-agency collaboration, emphasizing that effective security requires collective effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
