At the Government-Citizens Engagement Forum organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation in Kaduna, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, reaffirmed the Corps\u2019 frontline role in Nigeria\u2019s internal security architecture, aligning its efforts with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on the theme of government accountability and citizen engagement, Professor Audi emphasized that public trust remains the bedrock of successful security operations. He noted that the Corps has intensified its tactical presence nationwide through intelligence-led deployments designed to address emerging threats and safeguard key sectors of national interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commandant General highlighted the operational impact of specialized units such as the Agro Rangers, who continue to protect farmers and agricultural investments in volatile areas; the Female Squad, strategically deployed to ensure safety in schools under the Safe School Initiative; the Special Intelligence Squad (SIS), which spearheads anti-vandalism efforts and critical infrastructure protection; and the Mining Marshals, actively engaged in combating illegal mining and securing Nigeria\u2019s mineral resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stressed that these units are effective not just because of their tactical training, but because of the trust they have earned from the communities they serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, Professor Audi emphasized that synergy remains a central pillar of the Corps\u2019 strategy. Through robust collaboration with other security agencies and community stakeholders, the NSCDC continues to enhance intelligence-sharing, joint response capabilities, and operational efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He acknowledged the consistent support of the Honourable Minister of Interior, which has contributed significantly to strengthening the Corps\u2019 field capabilities and inter-agency coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
