In a renewed effort to enhance security and curb criminal activities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the FCT Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has pledged to strengthen its operational collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This commitment was made on Tuesday by the FCT NSCDC Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, during a courtesy visit by the newly deployed DSS State Director for the FCT, Usman Dauda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Odumosu emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation, noting that the prevailing peace in the territory is largely due to the harmonious working relationship among security institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo single agency has a monopoly on security strategies. That\u2019s why collaboration remains crucial in safeguarding lives and property. The NSCDC is fully committed to deepening this established partnership,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further noted that the NSCDC and DSS have enjoyed a long-standing alliance, supported by shared responsibilities that also extend to other sister agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYour visit today reaffirms the strength of our synergy, which is indispensable in the execution of our mandates within the FCT,\u201d Odumosu added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He assured the DSS of the NSCDC\u2019s unwavering support, especially in intelligence sharing and joint operations aimed at tackling insecurity and other emerging threats in the territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Commandant, this renewed collaboration will be pivotal in addressing criminality and maintaining peace across Abuja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his response, DSS Director Usman Dauda said his visit was aimed at reinforcing the already fruitful relationship with the NSCDC, describing the Corps as a vital stakeholder in national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He acknowledged the NSCDC\u2019s broad mandate under its establishment Act and commended the Command for its consistent efforts in maintaining order in the FCT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dauda expressed confidence in the progress being made toward improving the nation\u2019s security architecture, stressing that collaborative efforts from all security agencies are essential in achieving lasting peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
