The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor. Ahmed Audi, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Lux Mundi University, Umuahia, as well as students from less privileged backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Audi made this known on Thursday during the unveiling ceremony of the university\u2019s Senate Building, which was named in his honour, as part of his operational visit to Abia State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis university is here to stay,\u201d he stated. \u201cWe will do everything within our capacity to support its growth and also assist students from disadvantaged families. This commitment is especially important now, as we prepare to send some student nurses to the United States for internship opportunities in line with the belief that knowledge is power.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the alternate chairman of the university’s Board of Trustees, Professor. Audi encouraged the students to remain focused and committed to their academic pursuits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also commended Maria Santiago, CEO of the America Home Health Aid Training Institute, for her efforts in profiling the university\u2019s pioneer batch of 53 students for a U.S.-based exchange programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her remarks, Santiago expressed admiration for the institution, saying it exceeded her expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe university is far more than I imagined when I left the United States. I am truly overwhelmed, and words cannot fully describe how I feel,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen these 53 students arrive in the U.S., they will certainly return with valuable experiences and skills.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
