{"id":11422,"date":"2025-07-12T10:25:33","date_gmt":"2025-07-12T10:25:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=11422"},"modified":"2025-07-12T10:27:27","modified_gmt":"2025-07-12T10:27:27","slug":"naf-air-strikes-kill-scores-of-armed-bandits-in-zamfara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=11422","title":{"rendered":"NAF Air Strikes Kill Scores of Armed Bandits in Zamfara"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that scores of armed bandits were killed in a series of coordinated airstrikes targeting their convoy along the Kebbi-Zamfara axis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement released on Friday, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, said the operation took place on July 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the statement, the airstrikes targeted a convoy of nearly 150 motorcycles carrying bandits near Yarbuga, a community in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;On 9 July 2025, under Operation Hadarin Daji, the Nigerian Air Force executed a series of precision airstrikes that neutralized scores of armed bandits along the Kebbi-Zamfara corridor,&#8221; the statement read. &#8220;The strikes targeted a large convoy of motorcycles transporting armed fighters near Yarbuga in Maru LGA.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ejodame noted that the operation followed credible, real-time intelligence, which enabled NAF aircraft to strike the convoy with precision, disrupting the movement of the terrorists and forcing survivors to scatter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that a follow-up ground exploitation mission conducted on July 10 confirmed the success of the operation, with several terrorist bodies, burnt motorcycles, and weapons recovered from the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The NAF spokesperson reiterated the Force\u2019s commitment to protecting civilian populations, supporting ground forces, and denying criminal elements the freedom to operate within Nigerian territory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that scores of armed bandits were killed in a series of coordinated airstrikes targeting their convoy along the Kebbi-Zamfara axis.
