{"id":11155,"date":"2025-07-05T06:39:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-05T06:39:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=11155"},"modified":"2025-07-05T06:55:50","modified_gmt":"2025-07-05T06:55:50","slug":"nigerian-army-offers-free-medical-services-to-sokoto-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=11155","title":{"rendered":"Nigerian Army Offers Free Medical Services to Sokoto Community"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a bid to strengthen civil-military relations and improve healthcare access, the Nigerian Army has conducted a free medical outreach for residents of Balle community in Gudu Local Government Area, Sokoto State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The outreach, held on July 3, 2025, was organized by the Headquarters of 8 Division, Nigerian Army, as part of events marking this year\u2019s Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL 2025). The initiative targeted vulnerable groups, including women, children, and the elderly, with free consultations, treatments, and essential medications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking at the event, Colonel Mohammed Umar, Commander of the Defence Headquarters Special Operations, represented the General Officer Commanding 8 Division and Commander Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadarin Daji (FANSAN YAMMA), Major General Ibikunle Ajose. He described the exercise as a strategic effort to give back to the host community and build trust between the military and the civilian population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis outreach is part of our broader commitment to serve not just as protectors of the nation, but also as partners in development. We are here to help address urgent health needs in Balle and surrounding communities,\u201d Colonel Umar stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He urged residents to continue collaborating with the military and other security agencies to ensure peace and stability in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The District Head of Balle, Alhaji Abdulrahman Usman, expressed gratitude on behalf of the community, praising the Army for its compassion and timely intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis gesture clearly reflects the Nigerian Army\u2019s dedication to the welfare of our people. We value this support and the message of unity it conveys,\u201d he said. He also offered prayers for divine protection and success for the armed forces in their national assignments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Balle outreach is one of several community-oriented programmes being implemented by the Nigerian Army across the country to commemorate NADCEL 2025\u2014highlighting its multifaceted role in both national security and humanitarian
