The explosives were believed to have been planted by Boko Haram\/ISWAP insurgents in a failed attempt to launch a devastating attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Nigerian Army, in a statement released Friday via its official Facebook handle (@HQ Nigerian Army), revealed that the discovery was made during a clearance operation carried out by Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams from the Forward Operating Bases in Marte and Dikwa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the statement, a total of 56 fully assembled IEDs were recovered safely from the site. Operations are still ongoing to neutralize and safely extract additional devices found in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Army noted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, working in synergy with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), uncovered a significant cache of Improvised Explosive Devices emplaced by Boko Haram\/ISWAP terrorists beneath the bridge linking Marte and Dikwa.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It further stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;A total of 56 fully prepared IEDs have been safely recovered. Controlled detonation and disposal operations are currently underway to ensure the area is completely secured.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Army commended the vigilance and professionalism of the troops, emphasizing that the successful operation thwarted a potentially deadly terrorist attack, thereby protecting lives and preserving a critical piece of infrastructure in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This development comes amid recent reports of multiple explosions across Borno highways, which have claimed the lives of several travellers. The Army&#8217;s swift response and EOD expertise have once again highlighted its commitment to maintaining security and defeating insurgency in the North
