The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested four suspects in connection with the alleged vandalism and illegal transportation of telecommunications and power infrastructure components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspects identified as Mogaji Ibrahim, Umaru Adamu, Abba Muhazu, and Adamu Idris \u2014 were intercepted at the old Ore Toll Gate along the Lagos-Benin Expressway in Odigbo Local Government Area while allegedly conveying vandalised items from Kano to Lagos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spokesperson of the NSCDC in Ondo State, Daniel Aidamenbor, who confirmed the arrest, said the operation was carried out following actionable intelligence received by the command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe suspects were caught transporting vandalised telecommunication cables, parts of electricity transformers, high-tension wires, copper and armoured cables, and other cut-to-size metal components believed to have been removed from critical national infrastructure,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aidamenbor added that the recovered items have been preserved as evidence while the suspects remain in custody as investigations continue to identify the sponsors and possible accomplices behind the operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He reaffirmed the command\u2019s resolve to clamp down on all acts of economic sabotage, especially those targeting critical national assets and infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
