As Democracy day approaches, there have been rumours of planned Peaceful Protest slated for June 12 hence; the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr.Ahmed Abubakar Audi has ordered a full scale security beef up across the federation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Audi briefed Top Management Cadre and State Commandants noting that one of the pivotal Core mandate of the NSCDC is
the protection of the Nation’s Critical National Assets and Infrastructure as well as securing lives and property of the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He hinted that Credible Intelligence revealed suffice that there are plans to hold peaceful Protest in some selected States which includes but not restricted to: FCT, Lagos, Ondo, Oyo , Delta, Rivers among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“To this end you are directed to place your officers and men on red alert across all flash points, venues of the planned protests, public gatherings, Recreational centres and muster points of any Rally”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Our duty is to ensure adequate Protection of Government facilities to avert all forms of breakdown of law and order and Vandalism planned by sinisters to and criminal minded individuals who will often hijack Peaceful Protest in order to actualize their nefarious activities”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The CG said, to achieve effective security coverage the NSCDC would collaborate with sister security agencies to uphold law and order and make sure the security of lives and property are not in jeopardy”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further appealed to Nigerian Youth to refuse being used by desperate and criminal minded individuals anyone caught would be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
